I should have been injured at least 3 times in the last 6 months. Playing competitive rugby you have to expect that you will take some sort of injury at some point, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take every precaution available to avoid it. 

I've always put a big emphasis on proper weight training and conditioning for sport, but after my last ankle injury Sarah showed me that mobility work is just as important and I haven't had an injury since (4 years ago)

When you first do some of the workouts you think one of two things either 1. that looks simple enough and then it isn't! or 2. I'm never going to be able to do that. I did find a couple of the exercises difficult, even lying down flat to get up 20 times - tougher than it seems. What I was surprised at was how quickly my body adapted, I even went from planks on knees to full ones!

I genuinely feel I am becoming stronger and I don't think it is a placebo effect.

It is widely accepted these days that a lack of physical fitness leads to early signs of ageing and the onset of so-called "lifestyle diseases" like heart conditions, diabetes and such.

It is also widely accepted that if someone is suffering from these types of conditions, starting to increase their physical activity and improving their diet reverses their symptoms and prevents the disease from coming back.

When done properly, the same can be said of movement and sporting injuries.

The problem is, it's not a widely accepted fact just yet, so most people are completely oblivious that their daily exercise habits are actually driving them towards injury.

That's right, it's just me.

I created the SMARTT™ Solution from over 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industries, and from over 10 years of frustration with my own nagging injuries.

Despite a BSc in Sport Science and an MSc in Sports Injury, being a Soft-Tissue Therapist, a Personal Trainer and having many other "specialisms", I always felt like there was a huge piece of the puzzle missing.

That's when I started investigating natural movement. 

I was manipulated badly in my early 20s which strained the ligaments in my spine. Since then I've been plagued with one little niggly injury after another, which were compounded by a an ankle injury I suffered following a bad landing in a martial arts class.

Conventional wisdom did allow me to get back to some level of fitness, but the injuries were always something I managed, rather than ever truly forgetting about them.

Since experimenting with movement and the laws of nature, I began applying my injury knowledge and my nagging problems started to disappear.

Now I don't suffer with the lower back, knee, hip and shoulder pain I was constantly aware of before, I can just get on with exercising!

When I began applying this work to my patients and customers, they started experiencing the same relief I had, and now I'm bringing it to you.

My brain doesn't like complicated, so I've made it as simple as I can to follow, to help you just dive in and get started!
